TrailShot / Trail Base Filter Cartridge and Maintenance Kit

This kit includes a replacement hollow fibre filter cartridge for the MSR TrailShot and Trail Base filters, along with the small components and instructions needed to service your filter and restore full flow rates. Simple to swap out, and worth doing — a fresh cartridge brings the filter back to peak performance and extends the life of a tool you depend on in the field.

Each cartridge is rated to filter up to 2,000 litres depending on source water conditions, with a 0.2 micron hollow fibre membrane that removes bacteria, protozoa, and particulate effectively. Note that this filter does not remove viruses or chemicals and toxins — check your water source and treat accordingly.
